User groups
Group people so you can grant Space and assistant access to a whole department at once.
A user group is a named set of people — usually a department or function — that can be granted access somewhere as a unit. Adding a group to a Space is the difference between one action and forty.
What a group is for
Section titled “What a group is for”Groups exist so you can manage access for a whole department or function at once, rather than repeating the same invitation for every person in it.
Creating a group
Section titled “Creating a group”Create a group and give it a name that reflects what it represents — a department, a function, or a project team.
Adding and removing members
Section titled “Adding and removing members”Add or remove individual users from a group at any time; their access to whatever the group has been granted updates automatically.
Granting a group access to a Space
Section titled “Granting a group access to a Space”Add a user group to a Space’s members the same way you’d add an individual — from that Space’s Members list. See Members.
Groups in Usage reporting
Section titled “Groups in Usage reporting”Token consumption broken down by user group is available under Usage, so you can see which departments are actually using the platform, and how much. See Usage.
Groups and billing groups
Section titled “Groups and billing groups”A user group and a billing group are different concepts, even though both group people. A user group organizes access — who can reach which Spaces and assistants. A billing group organizes cost — whose consumption counts toward which budget. The same people might belong to matching groups of each kind, but adding someone to a user group doesn’t put them in the equivalent billing group automatically. See Billing groups.
