People
Manage who has access to the platform, how they are grouped, and what they can do.
People covers everyone who can sign in to your organization’s Intric, how they’re organized into groups, and which role each one holds. It’s the layer above Space membership: a person has to exist here before they can be added to a Space.
How the pieces relate
Section titled “How the pieces relate”A user
Section titled “A user”A person with an account in your organization’s Intric, holding one organization role — User, Creator, or Admin.
A user group
Section titled “A user group”A named set of users you can grant access to a Space, or otherwise manage together, in one action rather than one at a time.
A role
Section titled “A role”What a user is allowed to do — at the organization level (User, Creator, Admin) or, separately, within a specific Space (Viewer, Editor, Admin). See Roles in Intric.
A Space member
Section titled “A Space member”A user who has been added to a specific Space, holding a Space role there. Space membership is managed inside the Space itself, not here — see Members.
How groups simplify access
Section titled “How groups simplify access”Grant an entire user group access to a Space or an assistant in a single action, instead of adding each person to it individually. When someone joins or leaves the group, their access follows automatically.
Single sign-on and directory sync
Section titled “Single sign-on and directory sync”Intric supports SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect, so you can integrate sign-in with your organization’s existing identity provider rather than managing separate Intric credentials.
SSO can also provision accounts, not just authenticate them. With provisioning turned on, a person who signs in through your identity provider for the first time gets an Intric account created for them automatically — no prior invitation needed. See Users for how a provisioned account shows up alongside invited ones, and SSO and User Groups for how your identity provider administrator sets it up.
