Getting started with Intric
The three building blocks of the platform, what you can do with it, and what to try first.
Intric lets you build assistants: configurable AI colleagues that know your organization’s material and can act on your behalf. You don’t need a technical background to create one — the only required field is a name, and you can refine everything else afterward.
The three building blocks
Section titled “The three building blocks”Every assistant is a combination of three things. Change any one of them and you get a different assistant.
Language models
Section titled “Language models”The model is the engine that turns instructions and knowledge into an answer. Intric is model-agnostic: your organization can enable several models, and you choose between them based on what a task needs — speed for a quick question, stronger reasoning for a complex one.
Knowledge and data
Section titled “Knowledge and data”Knowledge is what makes an assistant an expert on your organization rather than the world in general — documents you attach, sources it can search, connected systems, or the live web. See Knowledge for the full picture of what an assistant can draw on.
Capabilities and integrations
Section titled “Capabilities and integrations”Beyond answering in text, an assistant can transcribe audio, redact a document, produce a finished file, or act in another system your organization has connected. See Abilities for what’s available.
What you can do with it
Section titled “What you can do with it”A few concrete examples of what an assistant can help with:
- Draft and edit a document or presentation from a short description.
- Transcribe a recorded meeting and summarize the decisions made.
- Redact personal information from a PDF before you share it further.
- Answer questions grounded in your own policies, guidelines, or archives.
- Connect to another system your organization uses, so an assistant can look something up or act on your behalf.
How to reach the platform
Section titled “How to reach the platform”You can work in Intric through the web application in your browser, and through any mobile or embedded surface your organization has set up for you. Whichever way you sign in, you land on your personal assistant first.
What to try first
Section titled “What to try first”Start a conversation with your personal assistant — that’s the fastest way to get a feel for the platform, and it needs no configuration from you. When you’re ready to build something for your team rather than yourself, move on to Create an assistant.
