Legacy knowledge

The older Collections and Websites knowledge area, its retirement dates, and how to move off it.

Alongside attachments, Intric still carries its original knowledge handling — the Collections and Websites you find under Knowledge in a Space. It keeps working for now, but it’s being retired in favor of attaching files directly to assistants.

Before attachments and knowledge sources existed in their current form, knowledge in Intric lived entirely in Collections and crawled Websites, configured at the Space level rather than per assistant.

Folders of uploaded documents and spreadsheets, organized within a Space’s Knowledge area.

Websites indexed for search on a schedule, so an assistant can answer from specific pages without fetching them live each time.

Move material out of legacy knowledge by uploading it to an assistant as an attachment instead. See Attachments. If you’re setting up knowledge for a new assistant today, start there directly with attachments and knowledge sources — there’s nothing to migrate later.

Move the original files, not exports. The old knowledge handling converted file content to plain text and didn’t keep the originals. An export from it isn’t the document itself — Intric needs the real file to give you correct references back to it. Find the original PDF, Word, or other source file and upload it directly rather than exporting from the legacy system.
