Assistants in Spaces

Every assistant belongs to exactly one Space, and that determines who can reach it, which models it may use, and who can change it. Understanding that relationship is most of understanding access control in Intric.

An assistant belongs to one Space

Other than the personal assistant every user gets, every assistant lives in exactly one Space. It isn’t shared across Spaces by reference — if two teams need the same capability, each needs its own assistant, or one team needs access to the other’s Space.

What the Space decides

The Space an assistant lives in decides its security classification (and therefore which models and tools it can use), who can see it, and who can edit it, based on that Space’s members and roles.

Draft and published assistants

An assistant is either Draft or Published. A draft is visible only to people with direct editing access to it; a published assistant is available to every member of its Space, including viewers. See Publishing and approval.

Finding assistants across Spaces

The Assistants view shows every assistant you have access to, regardless of which Space it belongs to. Select a specific Space in the sidebar to narrow the list to that Space’s assistants only.

Moving an assistant

You can move an assistant to a different Space. You need to be a Space admin or editor in the destination Space to do it — having rights in the assistant’s current Space alone isn’t enough.

What happens to knowledge when you move

Attachments move with the assistant. Knowledge sources and integrations tied to the original Space’s configuration may need to be reconnected in the destination Space, since knowledge sources belong to a Space rather than to the assistant itself.
