Fortnox

Monthly profit-and-loss and balance sheets straight from a company's own Fortnox books, with drill-down to account, invoice and customer.

The recurring monthly report, produced from the books rather than assembled by hand — and answerable when someone asks why a figure moved.

Fortnox is a Swedish accounting system. This integration reads a company’s own books and produces the two statements that get asked for every month — profit and loss, and balance sheet — with the ability to drill into a single account, and to break revenue down by customer.

  • “Show the result for last month and explain the three largest cost accounts.”
  • “What sits behind this account this quarter?”
  • “Which customers generated the most revenue this year?”
  • “Compare this month against the same month last year.”

  • Read-only. Nothing is posted, corrected or booked through this connection.
  • Your own books. The integration is authorised against your Fortnox account and reads only that.

Authorise the integration against your Fortnox account. Talk to your Customer Success Manager — this one touches financial data and is worth scoping deliberately.

  • Read-only, and it should stay that way. Booking entries is an accounting act with legal consequences, and it stays with your accountant.
  • The books are as correct as they are kept. An unposted invoice or an unreconciled account will be reflected faithfully, which means a figure can be accurate and still be wrong.
  • Not a closing. A report mid-month is a report on incomplete data, and reading it as a result is the most common way to mislead yourself with this connection.
  • Sweden and Fortnox specifically. Other accounting systems are not covered.
