Fortnox
Monthly profit-and-loss and balance sheets straight from a company's own Fortnox books, with drill-down to account, invoice and customer.
The recurring monthly report, produced from the books rather than assembled by hand — and answerable when someone asks why a figure moved.
What it is
Section titled “What it is”Fortnox is a Swedish accounting system. This integration reads a company’s own books and produces the two statements that get asked for every month — profit and loss, and balance sheet — with the ability to drill into a single account, and to break revenue down by customer.
Use it for
Section titled “Use it for”- “Show the result for last month and explain the three largest cost accounts.”
- “What sits behind this account this quarter?”
- “Which customers generated the most revenue this year?”
- “Compare this month against the same month last year.”
| Function | Answers |
|---|---|
| Usage guide | Which report answers which question, and how periods are given — the assistant reads this first |
| Financial report | Profit and loss, or balance sheet, for a period |
| Ledger drill-down | What lies behind a single account: the entries, invoices and counterparties |
| Customer revenue | Revenue broken down by customer |
Data and permissions
Section titled “Data and permissions”- Read-only. Nothing is posted, corrected or booked through this connection.
- Your own books. The integration is authorised against your Fortnox account and reads only that.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Authorise the integration against your Fortnox account. Talk to your Customer Success Manager — this one touches financial data and is worth scoping deliberately.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Read-only, and it should stay that way. Booking entries is an accounting act with legal consequences, and it stays with your accountant.
- The books are as correct as they are kept. An unposted invoice or an unreconciled account will be reflected faithfully, which means a figure can be accurate and still be wrong.
- Not a closing. A report mid-month is a report on incomplete data, and reading it as a result is the most common way to mislead yourself with this connection.
- Sweden and Fortnox specifically. Other accounting systems are not covered.
