Skolverket
Swedish school statistics, curricula and syllabuses for compulsory and upper-secondary school, plus Kolada municipal key figures.
Two things a school question usually needs at once: what the curriculum actually requires, and what the statistics actually show. This connection carries both, plus the municipal key figures to compare against.
What it is
Section titled “What it is”Skolverket is the Swedish National Agency for Education. The integration covers its open data in two halves — the statistics database, and the curriculum and syllabus documents — and adds Kolada, the national key-figure database for municipalities and regions, so a school result can be read next to what the municipality spends.
Both the old course-based syllabus structure and the new GY25 format are supported.
Use it for
Section titled “Use it for”- “Compare average final grades in Malmö and Lund over the last three years.”
- “What are the knowledge requirements in mathematics for year 9 under Lgr22?”
- “Show the aims of this upper-secondary programme, in the GY25 version.”
- “Compare cost per pupil in compulsory school between these two municipalities.”
- “Find the school units matching this name and tell me which municipality they sit in.”
Twenty-one tools across three areas:
| Area | Answers |
|---|---|
| Usage guide | Which half of the data answers the question at hand — the assistant reads this first |
| Statistics | Browse the database, read a table’s metadata, fetch its figures, search for a table, and look up school units |
| Kolada | Search key figures, search organisational units, and fetch data for a unit or a whole municipality |
| Curricula and syllabuses | Find and list subjects, read a subject and its goals, read specific syllabus versions, and list and read programmes and their goals |
Data and permissions
Section titled “Data and permissions”- Open data, no key. Nothing about your organisation passes through.
- Read-only.
- Live. Answers come from the source at the time of the question.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Add the MCP server to an assistant and ask.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Aggregate statistics. Nothing here is about an individual pupil, and no such data is reachable.
- Sweden only.
- Syllabus versions matter. A subject can exist in several versions at once; asking without naming one gets the current version, which may not be the one a given cohort studied.
- Kolada is municipal key figures, collected on its own cycle — a Kolada figure and a Skolverket figure for the same year may not have been produced the same way, and comparing them needs care.
- Not an assessment. Knowledge requirements are returned as written; applying them to a pupil’s work is the teacher’s judgement.
