Helsinki Region Infoshare

The Helsinki region's open data catalogue and comparable statistics per municipality, with the time resolution and source stated.

Comparable figures across the four Helsinki-region municipalities, returned with the period and the source attached so a comparison can be checked rather than trusted.

Helsinki Region Infoshare (HRI) is the open data catalogue for the Helsinki region, alongside the region’s own PxWeb statistics service. This integration searches the catalogue and fetches comparable time series per municipality — Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen.

Every series comes back with its stated time resolution, period and source, which is what makes a cross-municipality comparison defensible.

  • “Compare unemployment in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa over the last five years.”
  • “Which datasets exist on this topic in the region?”
  • “Get this indicator per municipality, and tell me the time resolution.”
  • “What is the source for this series?”
Function Answers
Usage guide How the catalogue and the statistics service differ — the assistant reads this first
Search datasets Datasets in the region’s catalogue matching a keyword
Regional time series A comparable series per municipality, with resolution, period and source stated
  • Open data, no key. Nothing about your organisation passes through.
  • Read-only.

Add the MCP server to an assistant and ask.

  • The Helsinki region only — four municipalities, not Finland as a whole. For national figures, Statistics Finland is the right connection.
  • Aggregate statistics.
  • Comparable is not identical. The four municipalities collect on their own terms; the resolution and source are returned precisely so a difference in method is visible rather than hidden.
  • The catalogue describes, the statistics service delivers. Finding a dataset in the catalogue does not mean this connection can return its figures as a series.
