Dabas
Branded groceries in the Swedish article registry — GTIN lookup with ingredients, allergens and nutritional values.
Look up an actual product by its barcode and get its ingredient list, its allergens and its nutritional values — the branded-product gap that generic food databases leave open.
What it is
Section titled “What it is”Dabas is the Swedish article registry for branded groceries. Where Livsmedelsverket’s database describes food generically — “wheat bread, coarse” — Dabas describes the product on the shelf, with the manufacturer’s own declared ingredients and allergens.
Use it for
Section titled “Use it for”- “Look up this GTIN and tell me whether the product contains gluten.”
- “Which allergens are declared on this item?”
- “Find the branded products matching this name and compare their sugar content.”
- “What does this supplier list in their range?”
- “Work out the allergens for this recipe from the products in it.”

Data and permissions
Section titled “Data and permissions”- Read-only. Nothing is written back to the registry.
- Live lookups. Answers reflect what the registry holds at the time of the question.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Add the MCP server to an assistant and ask.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Declared data, not tested data. Ingredients and allergens are what the supplier declared to the registry. For a formal allergy assessment the packaging is the authority, not a database.
- Swedish market. A product not listed in Dabas cannot be looked up, and absence is not evidence about the product.
- Branded products. For generic foodstuffs — “carrots”, “rye flour” — Livsmedelsverket is the better source, and the usage guide says so.
- Recipe calculation is arithmetic over declared values. It does not account for preparation, loss or substitution.
