Livsmedelsverket

The Swedish Food Agency's open food database — over 2,500 foods with around fifty nutritional values each.

Nutritional values for generic foodstuffs, straight from the Swedish Food Agency, with meal-level arithmetic on top — which is what makes allergen planning for a school menu a question rather than a spreadsheet.

Livsmedelsverket publishes Sweden’s national food database: over 2,500 foods, each with around fifty nutritional values. This integration reads it directly and can add up a whole meal from its parts.

  • “Which dishes on this school menu contain milk or nuts?”
  • “What are the nutritional values for this food per 100 grams?”
  • “Add up the energy, protein and salt for this meal.”
  • “Which nutrients does the database actually carry, so I know what I can ask for?”
  • “Compare the iron content of these three foods.”

  • Open data, no key. Nothing about your organisation passes through.
  • Read-only.

Add the MCP server to an assistant and ask.

  • Generic foods, not branded products. The database describes “wheat bread, coarse”, not a specific loaf. For a named product on a shelf, Dabas is the right source.
  • Not an allergy assessment. Values are representative for a food type. A person’s safety depends on the actual product’s declaration and on preparation, neither of which this database sees.
  • Swedish data. Composition varies by country and producer.
  • Meal calculation is arithmetic. Cooking loss, absorption and substitution are not modelled.
