WordPress crawler
Crawls and indexes WordPress sites for semantic search, with SAML2 and Microsoft Entra ID support and bilingual sites handled.
For an intranet built on WordPress and sitting behind a login — crawled, segmented and made searchable by meaning.
What it is
Section titled “What it is”A crawler and search service for WordPress sites. It authenticates through SAML2 or Microsoft Entra ID, segments the content it finds, and indexes it with multilingual embeddings so search works across languages rather than only within one.
Indexing runs as a scheduled job rather than as a tool the assistant calls, which is deliberate: a full re-index is an operation, not a question.
Use it for
Section titled “Use it for”- “Find every page about parental leave on the intranet.”
- “What does the site say about this procedure?”
- “Search in Finnish and give me the Swedish page if that is what exists.”
- “How much of the site is currently indexed?”
| Function | Answers |
|---|---|
| Usage guide | How search works and how to read citations — the assistant reads this first |
| Search | Pages and passages matching a question |
| Index statistics | How much is indexed, so coverage can be stated rather than assumed |
Data and permissions
Section titled “Data and permissions”- Read-only against the site. The crawler reads; it never publishes.
- Authenticated crawling. SAML2 and Microsoft Entra ID are supported for sites behind a login.
- Bilingual sites are handled — content in both languages is indexed and searchable together.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Intric deploys one instance per site. You provide the site, its authentication and the crawl limits. Talk to your Customer Success Manager.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Permissions are at index level, not per user. Everything indexed is searchable by anyone using the assistant, regardless of who could see it on the site itself. Point the crawl at organisation-wide content and control the rest through assistant access.
- Content is as fresh as the last crawl, which runs on a schedule rather than per question.
- Re-indexing is not a tool. A full re-index is run as a job by Intric, so a page published five minutes ago is not necessarily findable yet.
- WordPress specifically. For other platforms the general intranet crawler is the alternative.
